Union County Public Schools is hiring a 2026-2027 Extended Content Standards Teacher to join our team at Walter Bickett Elementary, a high-needs school in the US. This is a full-time, on-site position serving students in grades K-12.
About the Role
You'll work with students who benefit from specialized, standards-aligned instruction tailored to their unique learning profiles. As an Extended Content Standards Teacher, you'll create inclusive, supportive learning environments where every student can succeed academically and socially.
What You'll Do
- Design and deliver lesson plans that use extended content standards to support active, engaged learning
- Apply differentiated instructional strategies that meet individual student needs and learning objectives
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching methods to ensure growth
- Collaborate with special education teams, general education teachers, and families
- Use evidence-based practices to support academic and social-emotional development
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and instructional planning
What We're Looking For
- Valid teacher certification or licensure in Special Education or Extended Content Standards
- K-12 classroom teaching experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Ability to work effectively with diverse learners and adapt teaching approaches
- Excellent communication skills with students, families, and school staff
- Commitment to creating inclusive, supportive learning communities
