Franklin Special District is hiring a full-time Pre-Kindergarten Special Education Teacher to join Liberty Elementary. This position supports students with diverse learning needs in early childhood, fostering inclusive, individualized learning experiences that build foundational skills and confidence from day one.
About the Role
As a Pre-K Special Education Teacher, you'll design and deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with identified disabilities or developmental delays. You'll create a welcoming, adaptive classroom environment where every learner can thrive, implementing evidence-based interventions and monitoring progress to ensure meaningful growth. This is a 10-month, full-time classified position reporting to the school principal, with a start date of August 3, 2026.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that reflect each student's unique learning profile and goals
- Provide direct, small-group, and whole-class instruction using differentiated strategies and assistive technology
- Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families to coordinate comprehensive support
- Assess student progress using formative and summative measures, adjusting instruction based on data
- Create an inclusive, sensory-appropriate learning environment that encourages language, social, and motor development
- Document student progress and communicate regularly with families and the IEP team
What We're Looking For
- Current state teacher certification in Special Education or Early Childhood Special Education
- Knowledge of early childhood development and evidence-based intervention practices
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with families, colleagues, and specialists
- Ability to adapt instruction and maintain flexibility in a dynamic classroom
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment for all learners
- Experience with IEP development, assessment, and progress monitoring preferred
