Join Worcester County Public Schools as a Head Custodian for WTHS, a full-time supervisory role leading facility operations and building maintenance. Lead our custodial team to maintain safe, clean, and operationally efficient school environments across campus.
About the Role
The Head Custodian manages all aspects of facility cleanliness, maintenance coordination, and custodial staff supervision. Working under the technical guidance of the Maintenance and Operations Manager and the administrative oversight of the school principal, you'll ensure our campus meets the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and functionality. This is a hands-on supervisory position where you'll lead by example while overseeing daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the custodial team to maintain facility cleanliness and standards
- Ensure all building areas meet health, safety, and sanitation requirements
- Manage facility maintenance schedules and coordinate with the Maintenance and Operations Manager
- Conduct quality inspections and prioritize maintenance needs
- Train and mentor custodial staff on procedures and best practices
- Manage custodial supplies inventory and equipment maintenance
- Address facility issues and resolve problems promptly
- Collaborate with school administration to support educational and operational goals
