Architectural Project Manager, Education

DLR Group is seeking an experienced Architectural Project Manager to lead education sector projects in our Minneapolis office. In this full-time position, you'll drive design excellence and client success across transformative school and higher education facilities.

About the Role

As an Architectural Project Manager focused on education, you'll manage the planning, design, and delivery of institutional building projects from conception through completion. This role bridges design vision with operational execution, ensuring projects meet client objectives, budgets, and timelines while maintaining the highest standards of architectural quality.

What You'll Do

• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, and consultants on education facility projects
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and client relationships throughout the design and construction phases
• Oversee design development and coordinate documentation to support successful permitting and construction administration
• Collaborate with school districts, university administrators, and institutional stakeholders to understand project goals and constraints
• Track project progress, identify risks, and implement solutions to keep initiatives on schedule and within budget
• Champion design quality and innovation while balancing practical, financial, and regulatory requirements

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field; licensure (AIA) preferred
• 5+ years of project management experience in architectural or design-related fields
• Proven success managing education sector projects or institutional facilities
• Strong leadership and communication skills across multiple stakeholder groups
• Project management expertise including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management
• Proficiency with project management tools and design software platforms
• Detail-oriented approach combined with strategic thinking and problem-solving ability
