Join The Scripps Research Institute as a Research Assistant I in our Bohn Laboratory, located on our Jupiter, Florida campus. This full-time position is central to advancing our understanding of G protein-coupled receptor signaling through hands-on research and lab support.
About the Role
The Bohn Laboratory is searching for a detail-oriented research professional to contribute to our work in cellular signaling biology. You'll work alongside experienced researchers in a dynamic, grant-funded laboratory environment, supporting experiments that drive discoveries in cell biology and pharmacology. This is an excellent opportunity to develop technical expertise in a specialized research setting.
What You'll Do
- Execute cell-based signaling assays using high-content screening methods, including 384-well plate protocols
- Perform GPCR signaling experiments, including cAMP assays and G protein coupling assays
- Maintain and culture mammalian cell lines following established laboratory protocols
- Prepare reagents, media, and assay materials with precision
- Record experimental data and maintain detailed laboratory notebooks
- Troubleshoot assay performance and work with team members to refine protocols
- Support general laboratory operations and equipment maintenance
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on experience with cell-based assays in high-throughput formats
- Demonstrated proficiency in GPCR signaling assays (cAMP detection, G protein coupling, or related methods)
- Practical experience in cell culture techniques and mammalian cell line maintenance
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to follow protocols precisely and document work systematically
- Excellent communication and teamwork in a collaborative research environment
- Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or related field preferred
