Warfel Construction is hiring a Quality Engineer for our Winchester City, Virginia office. This full-time position plays a critical role in our project delivery, ensuring construction excellence and client satisfaction from start to finish.
About the Role
As Quality Engineer, you'll be the accountability champion on our jobsites, working directly with construction teams to maintain rigorous quality standards, manage constructability challenges, and deliver projects that exceed client expectations. This is a hands-on role that requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to balance quality rigor with project schedules.
What You'll Do
- Serve as quality assurance lead on assigned construction projects, establishing and enforcing quality protocols
- Partner with project teams to evaluate constructability, identifying potential design and execution challenges before they become costly problems
- Document quality metrics, inspect materials and workmanship, and maintain comprehensive project records
- Develop and communicate best practices that become standard across our Winchester operations
- Interface regularly with clients to ensure their quality expectations are understood, tracked, and achieved
- Collaborate with superintendents, safety personnel, and trade partners to embed quality into daily operations
What We're Looking For
- Background in construction quality assurance, project engineering, or related field
- Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards
- Strong communication skills—you'll explain technical requirements to diverse teams and stakeholders
- Organized, detail-oriented approach to documentation and record-keeping
- Proactive problem-solving mindset with ability to work independently on jobsites
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel between project sites as needed
