About the Role

As a Democracy Intern at the Brennan Center for Justice, you'll contribute to meaningful work at the intersection of law, policy, and democratic participation. You'll support our team's efforts to strengthen voting rights, reform campaign finance systems, and advance the democratic institutions that serve all Americans.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct research on voting rights, election administration, and civic participation issues
  • Support the development of policy briefs, reports, and advocacy materials
  • Assist with fact-checking, data compilation, and legal research projects
  • Help coordinate events, webinars, and community engagement activities
  • Draft communications and social media content on democracy-focused initiatives
  • Contribute to the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced policy organization

What We're Looking For

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate student with genuine interest in democracy, voting rights, and civic engagement
  • Strong writing and research capabilities
  • Ability to work independently and contribute effectively in a team setting
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
  • Background or interest in law, policy, political science, or adjacent fields
