Electrical Designer [210191]

Aquent Talent is hiring a full-time Electrical Designer for our North Central, Houston location. In this hands-on role, you'll create technical drawings and component specifications that directly support our engineering operations and field teams.

About the Role

As an Electrical Designer, you'll work closely with our engineering team to develop drawings, schematics, and bills of materials tailored to customer specifications. You'll combine technical accuracy with problem-solving skills—analyzing engineering challenges, simulating scenarios in drawings, and helping our service technicians resolve field issues efficiently. This is a position where attention to detail and independent judgment directly impact project delivery.

What You'll Do

• Prepare electrical drawings and equipment BOMs to meet customer requirements with minimal supervision
• Collaborate with engineers and the engineering manager to refine designs and documentation
• Assist service personnel by simulating and analyzing problems through detailed drawings
• Process straightforward engineering work requests and ensure compliance with departmental standards
• Maintain accuracy and consistency across all technical documentation

What We're Looking For

• Proficiency in electrical design and CAD software
• Working knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and component specifications
• Ability to work independently while meeting engineering quality standards
• Strong communication skills to document designs clearly and collaborate with technical teams
• Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to troubleshoot design challenges
• Familiarity with engineering work requests and departmental procedures
