Bob Hope School in Houston, Harris County is hiring a full-time HR Specialist to support daily human resources operations and provide comprehensive employment support across our organization.
About the Role
As an HR Specialist with Bob Hope School, you'll serve as a responsive resource for employees navigating employment questions, policies, and procedural needs. Based in Harris County, you'll manage routine HR functions that keep our people systems running smoothly and ensure our teams have access to knowledgeable, timely assistance. Reporting to the Chief Talent Officer, you'll be part of the Human Resources Department supporting the full school organization over a 12-month employment cycle.
What You'll Do
- Respond to employee HR inquiries with clear, accurate guidance on policies, benefits, payroll, and employment procedures
- Support recruitment and onboarding processes, including new hire paperwork and orientation coordination
- Maintain confidential employee records and ensure HR documentation is complete and compliant
- Assist with benefits administration, enrollment support, and employee leave requests
- Coordinate with other departments on HR-related projects and data needs
- Help resolve routine HR issues and escalate complex matters appropriately
What We're Looking For
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain HR concepts clearly to diverse audiences
- Organized, detail-oriented approach to managing documents and tracking action items
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally and ethically
- Experience in a human resources role or strong HR knowledge
- Proficiency with HR systems, databases, or MS Office applications
- A collaborative mindset and genuine interest in supporting employee experience
