As a Junior Interior Designer based in Signal Hill (serving the greater Long Beach, CA area), you will work alongside experienced design and engineering professionals at Planate Management Group. This full-time, on-site position is an excellent entry point for an emerging designer eager to grow within a respected program management and facilities engineering firm. You will contribute to the planning and design workflow while developing hands-on expertise across real-world projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior designers in developing interior design concepts, layouts, and space plans
• Prepare drawings, presentations, finish selections, and supporting design documentation
• Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to align design work with project requirements
• Research materials, finishes, furnishings, and product specifications
• Support project coordination and maintain organized design files and records

Qualifications

• Background or coursework in interior design, architecture, or a closely related field
• Familiarity with industry-standard design and drafting software
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and visual communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team on-site in Signal Hill, California
• Eagerness to learn and contribute across the full design process
