Boston Children's Hospital is hiring a full-time Patient Experience Representative I to support its Sports Medicine department at the Waltham, Massachusetts location.
About the Role
As a Patient Experience Representative I at Boston Children's Hospital's Waltham Sports Medicine clinic, you'll serve as a frontline resource for patients and their families — helping coordinate the administrative side of care so clinical staff can focus on what they do best. This is a fully onsite position with a set schedule of Monday through Friday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
What You'll Do
- Greet and check in patients and families, creating a welcoming and efficient front-desk experience
- Coordinate scheduling, registration, and appointment workflows for Sports Medicine visits
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information at each encounter
- Manage incoming calls, direct inquiries to the appropriate clinical or administrative teams, and handle follow-up communications
- Prepare and maintain accurate patient records in compliance with hospital privacy and documentation standards
- Assist with referral coordination and prior authorization processes as needed
- Collaborate closely with clinical staff to support smooth patient flow throughout the department
- Respond to patient and family concerns with professionalism, empathy, and a commitment to service excellence
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical or administrative environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills — written and verbal — with a patient-centered approach
- Comfort working with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to work closely under supervision while building professional skills
- Prior experience in a healthcare, customer service, or administrative support role is a plus
