Western Flyer Xpress is now hiring solo, experienced drivers for our OTR CDL-A Company Truck Driver role based out of Athens, McMinn County — a full-time opportunity to run dependable dry van freight with the backing of a carrier built around keeping your wheels turning.
About the Role
As an OTR CDL-A Company Truck Driver with Western Flyer Xpress, you'll operate solo across our dry van lanes, hauling steady freight on over-the-road runs. With a strong freight base and well-planned routes, this position is designed to maximize your miles and your time behind the wheel while you stay out on the open road.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a CDL-A tractor-trailer on solo over-the-road dry van routes
- Transport freight on schedule across OTR and regional lanes
- Stay out an average of 18 to 21 days per tour of duty
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain equipment in safe condition
- Comply with all DOT regulations, hours-of-service rules, and company safety standards
- Communicate consistently with dispatch and support staff to keep deliveries on track
Qualifications
- Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL-A)
- Verifiable over-the-road driving experience preferred
- Willingness to commit to extended OTR runs of 18 to 21 days out
- Clean driving record and a strong commitment to safety
- Ability to work independently as a solo driver
Pay & Details
- Earn $0.60 to $0.65 per mile, based on experience
- OTR dry van, OTR, and regional opportunities available
- Average time out: 18 to 21 days
