About the Role
This Religious Studies Graduate position is an Academic Support Assistant role designed for ambitious graduates who want meaningful classroom exposure before beginning teacher training. Based at a well-regarded secondary school in Kensington & Chelsea, the post offers ideal pre-PGCE preparation with a September 2026 start. The pay rate is £106.47 per day, equivalent to £532.33 per week including holiday pay. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist teaching staff in delivering engaging Religious Studies lessons across the secondary age range.
- Provide one-to-one and small-group academic support to help pupils build understanding and confidence.
- Help prepare classroom materials, resources, and learning activities.
- Encourage positive behaviour and a focused learning environment.
- Observe experienced teachers and develop your own classroom practice in preparation for PGCE study.
Qualifications
- A degree in Religious Studies or a closely related subject.
- A genuine interest in pursuing teacher training and a future career in education.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with young people.
- Patience, reliability, and a supportive, encouraging approach to learning.
- Eligibility to work full-time in the role.
