About the Role
As a Food Service Worker with Chartwells K12, you will help keep students fueled and ready to learn at KIPP Newark Collegiate Academy, located at 129 Littleton Avenue, Newark, NJ 07103. This is a hands-on, customer-facing position based on a predictable weekday schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Both full time and part time hours are available, with additional scheduling details shared during the interview.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, portion, and serve nutritious meals to students and staff
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and serving area
- Follow established food safety and handling standards at all times
- Set up and break down service lines efficiently before and after meal periods
- Deliver friendly, attentive service to everyone in the school community
Qualifications
- Previous food service experience
- A valid food handler certification (or willingness to obtain one as required)
- Reliability and the ability to keep pace during high-volume meal service
- A team-oriented attitude and commitment to cleanliness and safety
