About the Role
As a Field Application Scientist, Metabolomics - Lipidomics at ThermoFisher Scientific, you will serve as a trusted technical partner to laboratories working in metabolomics and lipidomics. This is a full-time, field-based position covering the Eastern US, with a home base in the Lehigh Valley, Northampton County. The work involves hands-on engagement with analytical instrumentation in environments that may include loud equipment noise and the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, lab coats, gowning, and ear protection.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site scientific and application support to customers running metabolomics and lipidomics workflows.
- Guide laboratories through instrument operation, method development, and data interpretation.
- Travel across the Eastern US territory to deliver training, troubleshooting, and technical consultation.
- Act as a knowledgeable liaison between customers and internal ThermoFisher Scientific teams.
Qualifications
- Background in metabolomics, lipidomics, analytical chemistry, or a closely related scientific discipline.
- Comfort working in laboratory settings that require appropriate PPE and exposure to equipment noise.
- Willingness to travel regularly throughout the Eastern US as part of a field-based role.
- Strong communication skills to translate complex technical concepts for diverse customer audiences.
