About the Role
As a Nursing Education Specialist on the Nursing Professional Development team, you will partner across the Department of Nursing to design, deliver, and assess educational programs using a systems-based approach. Working from Mayo Clinic's Jacksonville campus, you will support staff through every stage of their learning journey — from onboarding through ongoing skill advancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess learning needs and plan, deliver, and evaluate educational activities through a systems model for nursing staff.
- Coordinate orientation, continuing education, and competency programs across the department.
- Serve as a learning facilitator and mentor, guiding nursing professionals toward their development goals.
- Act as a change agent and leader who advances new initiatives and best practices.
- Champion scientific inquiry and advocate for the advancement of Nursing Professional Development.
Qualifications
- Background in nursing education, professional development, or a closely related clinical practice area.
- Strength in facilitating learning, mentoring colleagues, and leading change within a team setting.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and a spirit of scientific inquiry.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills for working across nursing staff and departments.
- Availability to work on-site in Jacksonville, Duval County (this position is not remote).
