About the Role

This is a full-time, over-the-road (OTR) opportunity hauling dry van freight as an independent contract driver (1099) for OVERLOG INC in Palatine, Cook County. Our leadership team and dispatchers all came up as drivers themselves, so they understand the realities of the road and structure the operation to keep you rolling and earning. We aim to build long-term partnerships — the kind where the drivers who start with us choose to finish their careers with us.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate dry van equipment safely on long-haul, over-the-road assignments.
• Transport and deliver freight on schedule while complying with all DOT and FMCSA regulations.
• Maintain accurate logs and required documentation as a 1099 contract driver.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and uphold strong, clean DOT inspection records.
• Communicate proactively with dispatch to keep loads moving efficiently.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A (CDL A) commercial driver's license.
• Willingness to run OTR routes and operate as a 1099 independent contractor.
• Experience handling dry van freight is an asset.
• Commitment to safety, on-time delivery, and DOT compliance.

Compensation Highlights

• Earnings of up to 65 CPM for solo drivers and 75 CPM for teams — paid on both empty and loaded miles.
• Bonuses awarded for clean DOT inspections.
• Layover pay when a layover occurs.
• Detention pay when detention occurs.
