About the Role
As an Environmental Protection Specialist with the Defense Logistics Agency in Elizabeth, Union County, you will serve as a key steward of environmental standards. This full-time position centers on monitoring compliance, resolving findings, and managing the funding mechanisms that keep environmental programs running smoothly. Telework is available for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor environmental compliance using results from internal DLA reviews as well as audits conducted by service components.
- Build and implement corrective action plans whenever compliance gaps surface.
- Author standard operating procedures that strengthen ongoing environmental performance.
- Support and coordinate contracting activities tied to environmental requirements.
- Work within the DLA Enterprise Business System (EBS) to prepare Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests (MIPRs) and secure funding for environmental initiatives.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of environmental compliance frameworks and audit processes.
- Experience developing corrective action plans and writing standard operating procedures.
- Familiarity with government contracting and funding instruments such as MIPRs is an asset.
- Comfort using enterprise business systems like the DLA EBS to manage procurement and funding workflows.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to translate audit findings into practical solutions.
