About the Role
As a Politics Reporter based on-site in Washington, D.C., you will track developments across Capitol Hill, federal agencies, campaigns, and the broader political landscape, then translate them into accurate, timely stories for Fox News Media audiences. This is a full-time newsroom position for a journalist who thrives on breaking developments and sustained beat coverage in the nation's capital.
Key Responsibilities
- Report, write, and file original political stories under deadline pressure
- Cultivate and maintain sources across government, campaigns, and policy circles
- Monitor legislative activity, hearings, and political events in Washington, D.C.
- Verify facts rigorously and uphold editorial standards on every piece
- Collaborate with editors, producers, and colleagues across Fox's digital, broadcast, and audio platforms
- Adapt coverage for multiple formats, including text, on-air segments, and streaming
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience reporting on politics, government, or public affairs
- Strong, clear writing and a sharp news judgment for what matters and why
- An established network of sources or the proven ability to build one quickly
- Comfort working at speed without sacrificing accuracy or fairness
- Willingness to work on-site in Washington, D.C. (this role is not remote)
