Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a skilled RNFA First Assist (Part Time) to join our surgical team in Point Pleasant Boro, Ocean County, partnering directly with surgeons to deliver safe, high-quality operative care.
About the Role
As an RNFA First Assist at Hackensack Meridian Health in Point Pleasant Boro, you will work side by side with the operating surgeon or obstetrician and the wider clinical team to support safe procedures and the best possible outcomes for every patient. This role is grounded in perioperative nursing and calls for advanced clinical knowledge, refined surgical skills, and sound judgment applied throughout the surgical experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the surgeon or obstetrician during operative procedures to promote patient safety and optimal results.
- Apply perioperative nursing expertise across the pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases of care.
- Practice in close collaboration with and under the direction of the operating surgeon.
- Coordinate with the full health care team to maintain a safe and efficient surgical environment.
- Exercise clinical judgment specific to first-assist surgical practice.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with the specialized knowledge, technical skills, and judgment required for first-assist practice.
- Demonstrated competency in perioperative and intraoperative nursing.
- Ability to collaborate effectively under the direction of the surgical team.
- Commitment to patient safety and quality surgical outcomes.
