Equipment Service Technician

About the Role

As an Equipment Service Technician at Novolex in Boston, you will install, maintain, diagnose, and repair the mechanical, electrical, and automated systems that power our manufacturing operations. Working closely with operations and engineering teammates, you'll help minimize downtime, extend equipment life, and ensure every machine meets our quality and safety standards. This is an on-site position based in Suffolk County.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and scheduled inspections on production and packaging equipment
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults and carry out timely repairs
• Respond to breakdowns quickly to reduce unplanned downtime and keep lines moving
• Document service activity, parts usage, and equipment history accurately
• Support installation, setup, and calibration of new or upgraded machinery
• Follow all safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with operators and supervisors to recommend improvements that boost reliability

Qualifications

• Proven experience servicing industrial, manufacturing, or packaging equipment
• Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automated systems
• Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and equipment diagrams
• Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills under time pressure
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
• Willingness to work on-site in Boston, Suffolk County, with flexibility for shift coverage as needed
