Part-Time Outreach Worker – PS 179

Nia Community Services Network is hiring a Part-Time Outreach Worker - PS 179 to strengthen connections between our Beacon program and the families of Borough Park, Brooklyn. About the Role

As a Part-Time Outreach Worker based at PS 179 in Borough Park, Brooklyn, you will serve as a visible, welcoming link between Nia Community Services Network's Beacon and the wider community. Working directly with schools, local organizations, and residents, you'll raise awareness of available programs and gather the insights we need to keep our offerings relevant and responsive.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain working relationships with neighborhood schools, community partners, and individual residents.
• Engage community members one-on-one and in groups to introduce them to the Beacon and its services.
• Promote Beacon programs and activities through outreach across the surrounding community.
• Collect feedback from participants and residents to guide ongoing improvements to programming.
• Help ensure services reflect and address the evolving needs of the local community.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with comfort approaching and connecting with people from many backgrounds.
• A genuine interest in community engagement and neighborhood-based services.
• Ability to work on-site in Borough Park, Brooklyn, and collaborate with school and partner staff.
• Organized, dependable, and able to follow through on outreach commitments.
• Familiarity with the Borough Park community is a plus.
