About the Role

As a Locate Technician with Stake Center Locating in Rockford, Illinois, you will be on the front line of underground damage prevention. This is a field-based, full-time position with a starting wage of $21.00 per hour and 100% paid training, so no prior experience is required — just a willingness to learn and a commitment to doing careful, dependable work.

Key Responsibilities

• Locate underground utilities at job sites throughout the Rockford and Winnebago County area
• Mark the ground using paint and flags to clearly identify buried lines
• Troubleshoot locating equipment and resolve issues in the field
• Support damage prevention efforts to keep the community and local infrastructure safe
• Document and communicate findings accurately for each assignment

• No previous locating experience needed — full paid training is provided
• Comfortable working outdoors and on your feet in varying conditions
