Director of Commercial Lending

Lakeside HR Group is partnering with a respected, community-minded financial institution to find an experienced Director of Commercial Lending in Minnetonka, Hennepin County. This full-time, on-site leadership role offers the chance to shape a growing commercial lending portfolio at a bank known for personalized service and lasting client relationships.

About the Role

As Director of Commercial Lending, you will guide the strategy, growth, and day-to-day performance of the commercial lending function. Working closely with senior leadership, you will help expand the bank's loan portfolio while upholding sound credit standards and the close, relationship-driven approach that defines this Minnetonka-based institution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the commercial lending team, setting clear goals and supporting professional growth.
• Drive expansion of the commercial loan portfolio through new business development and deepened client relationships.
• Oversee credit quality, underwriting standards, and risk management across commercial lending activities.
• Build and maintain trusted partnerships with local businesses and community stakeholders.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to align lending strategy with the bank's broader objectives.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in commercial lending, with a proven record in a leadership or management capacity.
• Strong knowledge of commercial credit analysis, underwriting, and portfolio risk management.
• Demonstrated success in business development and cultivating long-term client relationships.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
• Commitment to community-focused, personalized banking and the ability to work on-site in Minnetonka, MN.

Compensation

This position offers a salary range of $200K–$250K, plus bonus.
