Central Point School District 6 is hiring three Assistant Football Coaches to support its athletics program at Scenic Middle School in Southern Oregon's Rogue River Valley. This full-time, on-site role is ideal for passionate mentors who want to develop young athletes both on and off the field.
About the Role
As an Assistant Football Coach with Central Point School District 6, you will help lead, instruct, and inspire middle school student-athletes. Three positions are currently open, with an anticipated start in August 2026. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and the posting remains open until all positions are filled.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning, organizing, and running practices and games
- Teach football fundamentals, conditioning, and team strategy in an age-appropriate way
- Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all student-athletes
- Model good sportsmanship, discipline, and academic accountability
- Supervise students during practices, competitions, and team travel
- Support player safety, equipment care, and adherence to district and league rules
Qualifications
- Knowledge of football fundamentals, rules, and coaching techniques
- Strong communication and mentorship skills with middle school-aged students
- Commitment to student safety, well-being, and character development
- Ability to meet all certification, background check, and clearance requirements for coaching in an Oregon school district
- Reliable availability for after-school practices, games, and athletic events
