Oracle is hiring a full-time Facilities Operations Technician III - Mechanical (OP4) in Springfield, Sangamon County, to help keep the mechanical heartbeat of hyperscale data centers running at peak reliability.

About the Role

As a Facilities Operations Technician III - Mechanical at Oracle in Springfield, you will work independently to safeguard the uptime, efficiency, and long-term lifecycle health of mission-critical mechanical and HVAC systems inside large-scale data center environments. The position calls for hands-on expertise across cooling infrastructure, mechanical plant equipment, control systems, redundancy planning, and day-to-day operational risk management.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain mechanical and HVAC systems that support always-on data center operations.
• Sustain the reliability, energy efficiency, and lifecycle performance of cooling and mechanical plant infrastructure.
• Apply redundancy strategies and assess operational risk to protect mission-critical equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across cooling systems and associated controls.
• Carry out assigned duties independently while supporting overall facility uptime goals.

Qualifications

• Solid technical command of mechanical plant systems, HVAC, and cooling infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of control systems and redundancy configurations within mission-critical settings.
• Understanding of operational risk management as it applies to data center facilities.
• Ability to perform tasks autonomously at a Technician III (OP4) level of responsibility.
• Comfort working on-site in Springfield, Sangamon County, in a full-time capacity (this is not a remote role).
