About the Role
This full-time Shared Living / Host Home Provider position is based in your own residence in Iowa, where you welcome an individual with disabilities into your household and help them live a fuller, more independent life. Because the role is funded through state resources, you must reside in Iowa and either own or rent your home. Providers can earn an average annual income of approximately $80,000 (federally tax-free) along with room and board.
Key Responsibilities
- Share your home and daily life with a person who has intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- Offer consistent personal support, companionship, and encouragement toward greater independence.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming, and fully wheelchair-accessible living environment.
- Assist with everyday routines, community involvement, and individual goals.
- Partner with the Mosaic team to ensure quality, person-centered care.
Qualifications
- Must reside in the state of Iowa due to state funding requirements.
- Must own or rent your home, located in the Des Moines and surrounding area.
- Your home must be fully wheelchair accessible.
- A genuine commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities in a home setting.
