About the Role
This is an on-site, full-time Research Technician II - Ophthalmology opportunity within the Walsh lab, a growing research group at Washington University in St Louis. The position is scheduled for 40 hours per week and centers on hands-on experimentation using advanced techniques to investigate the biological mechanisms underlying disease. You will work with both cell culture systems and murine models, contributing directly to studies that push the boundaries of ophthalmology and immunology research.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out laboratory experiments using single cell sequencing platforms, including PIP-seq and 10x Genomics technologies.
- Perform fluorescence imaging to analyze cellular and tissue samples.
- Conduct adoptive transfer experiments to study disease processes.
- Investigate disease mechanisms in cultured cells and in mouse model systems.
- Provide technical support for the lab's ongoing scientific projects and daily operations.
Qualifications
- A motivated, detail-oriented individual eager to contribute to an emerging research program.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn core laboratory methods such as sequencing, imaging, and work involving cell cultures and animal models.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow experimental protocols accurately.
