About the Role
As a Staff Scientist (Time-Limited) in Neurosurgery at Washington University in St Louis, you will join a research laboratory focused on building novel computational approaches and applying cutting-edge single-cell (epi)genomic methods. The team's mission is to deepen our understanding of how genes are regulated across human diseases, with a particular emphasis on brain tumors and neuropsychiatric conditions. This is a full-time position scheduled at 40 hours per week, located in the US, and is not a remote role.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement original computational tools and analytical methods to study gene regulation.
- Apply advanced single-cell and epigenomic techniques to investigate disease mechanisms in brain tumors and neuropsychiatric disorders.
- Analyze and interpret complex genomic datasets to generate biologically meaningful insights.
- Contribute bioinformatics expertise across the laboratory's research projects and collaborative efforts.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience as a bioinformatics programmer with strong, hands-on technical ability.
- A broad working knowledge of computational biology and data-driven research methods.
