Join Cocoon House as a Youth Housing Support Staff on the swing shift team in Novelty, Snohomish County. About the Role
Working swing shift hours, you'll provide direct residential care and supervision to teens in Cocoon House's housing programs. Your role is essential to maintaining safe, structured living spaces and building trusting relationships that help young people overcome trauma and homelessness. This position requires flexibility to cover evening and night-time shifts, ensuring continuous support for residents.
What You'll Do
- Supervise and support residents during swing shift hours, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment
- Model healthy behaviors and teach life skills through daily interactions and mentorship
- Respond to behavioral challenges using trauma-informed de-escalation techniques
- Assist residents with academic support, meal preparation, household tasks, and personal care
- Document observations and communicate progress to the clinical treatment team
- Maintain compliance with program standards and facility regulations
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and collaborative care planning
- Build rapport and trust with residents from diverse backgrounds
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability and willingness to work swing shift schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Genuine commitment to supporting youth facing homelessness and housing insecurity
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Reliable transportation to Novelty and surrounding Snohomish County areas
- Pass background check and drug screening
