Wireperson

Join Powell Industries, Inc. as a Wireperson and take a hands-on role assembling critical electrical systems in our Old Sixth Ward, Houston manufacturing facility. This full-time position offers a four-day work week schedule (Monday–Thursday, 2:30 PM–1:00 AM) within our Electrical Assembly department.

About the Role

As a Wireperson at Powell Industries, you'll be essential to the production of switchgear and electrical equipment that powers the energy generation industry. Your work involves assembling, installing, and maintaining electrical systems and components with precision and care. Within our established Electrical Assembly team, you'll contribute to products that meet strict quality and safety standards.

What You'll Do

• Perform wiring tasks and make electrical connections on switchgear and power generation equipment
• Assemble electrical components, harnesses, and systems according to engineering specifications
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly documentation
• Install electrical systems and components into equipment assemblies
• Inspect and test electrical connections for proper function and safety compliance
• Maintain a safe, organized work station and follow all electrical safety protocols
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and quality standards

What We're Looking For

• Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications
• Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail in precision assembly work
• Knowledge of electrical safety practices and commitment to following safety procedures
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to troubleshoot basic electrical issues
• Reliable attendance and availability for the 10-hour shift schedule
• Team-oriented attitude and strong communication skills
• Previous experience in electrical assembly, wiring, or manufacturing preferred
