About the Role
This full-time, on-site Interim Teacher opening at Wilderness Elementary School is designed for emerging educators who are actively working toward their teaching license. Stepping into the position, you will take on the complete scope of a licensed classroom teacher's duties while building practical, day-to-day experience and growing under the guidance of an experienced SCPS mentor teacher.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out the full range of instructional and classroom duties expected of a licensed elementary teacher at Wilderness Elementary School.
- Plan, deliver, and manage daily learning for students in your assigned classroom.
- Take part in professional development sessions offered to new teachers across the district.
- Collaborate with and learn from an assigned veteran SCPS mentor who supports your development and helps you adjust to the role.
Qualifications
- Actively pursuing teacher licensure and committed to entering the profession.
- Readiness to fulfill the everyday responsibilities of a classroom teacher.
- Openness to mentorship, feedback, and ongoing learning throughout the school year.
- Available for full-time, in-person work in Spotsylvania, Spotsylvania County (this role is not remote).
