Youth Opportunity Investments, LLC is seeking a Unit Manager for its residential youth services program in Bartlett, Shelby County.
This full‑time position supports the daily operations of a behavioral health facility that serves at‑risk youth, requiring flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
About the Role
The Unit Manager provides leadership and oversight to ensure the safe, therapeutic environment of the residential program runs smoothly. This role bridges direct care staff, clinical teams, and administrative functions to maintain compliance with licensing standards and deliver high‑quality care to youth and their families.
What You'll Do
- Supervise, train, and schedule direct care staff, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Monitor adherence to individualized treatment plans, behavior management protocols, and safety procedures.
- Coordinate intake, assessment, and discharge processes in partnership with clinical staff and external agencies.
- Maintain accurate documentation, incident reports, and required records for state licensing and accreditation.
- Facilitate communication with families, guardians, and community partners to support youth progress and engagement.
- Oversee inventory of supplies, manage program budgets, and assist with purchasing and resource allocation.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives based on outcome data, staff feedback, and best practices in residential youth services.
- Respond to emergencies and crises, applying de‑escalation techniques and ensuring timely reporting.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, social work, criminal justice, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum two years of supervisory experience in a residential, behavioral health, or youth‑focused setting.
- Working knowledge of state licensing requirements, CARF or Joint Commission standards, and Medicaid regulations.
- Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with staff, youth, and families.
- Capacity to work a variable schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to pass background checks and drug screening.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred; willingness to complete additional required training.
