J.E. Dunn Construction Company is seeking an experienced Traveling General Superintendent for Mega Projects to lead complex construction initiatives across multiple U.S. locations. This is a full-time position based in Springfield, Greene County, with frequent travel to active project sites including Kansas City, Nashville, Cleveland, St. Louis, Council Bluffs, Fort Wayne, Wichita, Charlotte, Temple, Iowa City, Fort Leonard Wood, North Charleston, San Antonio, and other key markets.
About the Role
As a Traveling General Superintendent, you'll oversee mega-scale construction projects from inception through completion, ensuring operational excellence across teams, budgets, and schedules. This role demands your presence on-site to lead, coordinate, and resolve challenges in real time on high-impact commercial and industrial construction programs.
What You'll Do
- Direct field operations and on-site personnel across large-scale construction projects
- Maintain strict adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards
- Implement and enforce comprehensive safety protocols and regulatory compliance
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and key stakeholders
- Manage logistics, resource allocation, and equipment deployment
- Report project progress and address issues with senior leadership
- Travel frequently to project sites as required
What We're Looking For
- Valid General Contractor license or equivalent construction credentials
- Minimum 10+ years of experience supervising large-scale construction projects
- Proven track record delivering mega-projects in commercial or industrial sectors
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety regulations, and industry standards
- Ability to lead diverse teams and foster collaborative relationships
- Comfort with frequent travel and on-site presence across multiple U.S. markets
- Proficiency with construction management software and reporting tools
