TEI Construction Services Inc. is seeking a Traveling Field Engineer (West) – Outage Services to help keep critical outage work running on time and on plan.
About the Role
As a Traveling Field Engineer supporting outage services, you will be a key contributor to utility outage projects across the western U.S. This is a full-time, travel-intensive position: you can expect to spend roughly 75% of the year on-site at project locations, with the remaining time based out of your own home office. You'll function as an integral part of the project management team, lending support across planning, scheduling, field execution, and day-to-day coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering and project support throughout the lifecycle of utility outage projects in the western region.
- Assist the project management team with planning, scheduling, and tracking of outage activities.
- Support project execution in the field, helping ensure work stays aligned with timelines and project requirements.
- Travel extensively to project sites — approximately 75% of the year — and work remotely from a home office when not deployed.
- Coordinate with crews, stakeholders, and project leadership to keep outage work moving efficiently.
Qualifications
- Willingness and ability to travel for roughly three-quarters of the year to job sites across the western United States.
- A background suited to supporting engineering, planning, and scheduling functions on utility or construction outage projects.
- Strong organizational and communication skills for working alongside a project management team.
- Ability to work independently from a home office during non-travel periods.
