Travel PCU Registered Nurse

About the Role

As a Travel PCU Registered Nurse with MedPro Healthcare Staffing, you will care for patients on a Progressive Care Unit who require closer monitoring than a general medical-surgical floor but are not critically ill enough for intensive care. This is a full-time travel position based on-site in Asheville, North Carolina, scheduled to begin July 13, 2026, with a 13-week duration. The assignment is 36 hours per week across 12-hour day shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and care for progressive care and step-down patients throughout each shift
• Administer medications and treatments while tracking changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with physicians, fellow nurses, and the wider care team to coordinate treatment plans
• Document patient care accurately and maintain compliance with unit and facility standards
• Educate patients and families on care plans, recovery, and discharge instructions

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid for practice in North Carolina
• Clinical experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or comparable step-down/telemetry setting
• Comfort working 12-hour day shifts and adapting quickly to a new facility's workflows
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills
• Willingness to travel and commit to the full 13-week assignment in Asheville, Buncombe County
