Healthcare Support is actively placing a full-time Travel ICU Registered Nurse in San Antonio, Conejos County — a 13-week assignment for an experienced critical care RN ready to make an immediate impact in an intensive care setting.
About the Role
This travel nursing position places you within a fast-paced ICU environment where your critical care expertise directly shapes patient outcomes. Working 12-hour shifts totaling 36 hours per week, you'll join a clinical team committed to delivering high-acuity, life-sustaining care. The assignment begins as soon as possible, making this an ideal opportunity for RNs who are credentialed and ready to hit the ground running.
What You'll Do
- Continuously monitor and assess critically ill patients, recognizing and responding to rapid changes in condition
- Administer complex medication regimens, IV therapies, and vasoactive drips per physician orders
- Operate and troubleshoot advanced ICU equipment including ventilators, hemodynamic monitors, and infusion pumps
- Collaborate with intensivists, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams on individualized care plans
- Communicate clearly with patients and families during high-stress, emotionally sensitive situations
- Maintain thorough and accurate clinical documentation in compliance with facility standards
What We're Looking For
- Active, unencumbered RN licensure valid in the state where the assignment is located
- Minimum of 1–2 years of recent hands-on ICU or critical care nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications; CCRN preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency with critical care monitoring systems and ventilator management
- Strong clinical judgment, adaptability to new facility protocols, and the ability to perform under pressure
- Travel-ready: ability to work a 13-week contract on a 12-hour shift schedule
