About the Role
As a Therapist supporting the Families Rising LI Program, you will provide clinical services that strengthen families navigating foster care and related challenges. Based on-site in Woodside, Queens, this position blends direct therapeutic work with collaborative case planning, helping the people we serve build the resilience and skills they need to thrive in their own homes and communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver individual, family, and group therapy grounded in proven, trauma-informed practices.
- Complete thorough clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each family's goals.
- Support children and caregivers as they move through and beyond the foster care system.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and progress notes in line with program and regulatory standards.
- Partner with case managers, supervisors, and community resources to coordinate well-rounded support.
- Monitor client progress and adjust therapeutic approaches as needs evolve.
Qualifications
- A relevant clinical or counseling background suited to delivering therapeutic services to children and families.
- Experience or strong interest in foster care, child welfare, or family-centered practice.
- Familiarity with evidence-based and trauma-informed treatment models.
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Commitment to working on-site in Woodside, Queens, as part of a full-time team.
