Join GAF as a Technical Sales Representative in our Lowell, Middlesex County office, where you'll drive commercial roofing solutions to customers across the region. This full-time position offers the opportunity to blend technical expertise with consultative selling, helping building owners, contractors, and facility managers discover the right roofing products and systems for their projects.
About the Role
As a Technical Sales Representative, you'll be the bridge between our customers' needs and GAF's industry-leading commercial roofing portfolio. You'll develop deep relationships with key accounts, understand their operational challenges, and present tailored solutions that deliver both performance and value. Your technical knowledge will set you apart, enabling you to answer tough questions, troubleshoot concerns, and win business through credibility and expertise.
What You'll Do
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities within your territory, prospecting proactively and building a healthy sales pipeline
- Consult with commercial contractors, property managers, and facility directors to understand their roofing challenges and project requirements
- Present GAF's commercial roofing systems, materials, and services with confidence, backed by product knowledge and technical specifications
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and operations teams to ensure seamless project delivery and customer success
- Manage account relationships throughout the sales cycle, from initial inquiry through contract close and project handoff
- Stay current with industry trends, competitive offerings, and GAF's product innovations to remain a trusted advisor
- Support customers with technical documentation, specifications, and troubleshooting as needed
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in technical sales, B2B sales, or a related field, preferably in construction, building materials, or commercial contracting
- Strong technical acumen with the ability to understand and explain roofing systems, materials, and specifications
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; comfortable engaging with diverse customer types
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to navigate complex sales scenarios
- Willingness to travel within your territory to meet customers on job sites and in offices
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
