As a Technical Program Manager for Data Center Development Planning and Pre-Construction, you'll drive programs spanning site acquisition, feasibility analysis, regulatory compliance, and pre-construction planning. This role bridges technical strategy with operational execution, requiring you to solve ambiguous problems, influence stakeholders with competing priorities, and make critical decisions that impact project viability and schedule.
What You'll Do
- Own program outcomes from conception through pre-construction phases, managing scope, timeline, and stakeholder expectations across multiple concurrent initiatives
- Lead cross-functional teams including real estate, engineering, environmental, and regulatory specialists to assess site feasibility and development potential
- Develop comprehensive project plans, identify technical risks, and drive mitigation strategies for complex data center programs
- Collaborate with external partners, municipal agencies, and contractors to navigate permitting, zoning, and compliance requirements in Chicago
- Translate technical constraints and business objectives into clear program milestones and measurable success metrics
- Communicate program status, strategic recommendations, and key decisions to senior leadership and stakeholders
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience managing large-scale programs with multiple moving parts, cross-functional dependencies, and competing stakeholder priorities
- Deep expertise in program management, project management, or a domain directly relevant to data center planning, infrastructure development, or construction
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, make decisions in ambiguous situations, and drive ownership of outcomes
- Strong analytical skills and comfort translating complex technical information into actionable insights for leadership
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Experience working with real estate, construction, regulatory compliance, or infrastructure projects preferred
