About the Role
This is a full-time teaching position focused on special education and inclusion support. You'll serve as a Special Education Case Manager, developing and overseeing the implementation of individualized education programs that help students with disabilities thrive alongside their general education peers. This role requires a teacher who is committed to collaborative, evidence-based instruction and genuine partnership with families.
What You'll Do
- Develop, monitor, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with each student's goals and state special education standards
- Provide direct special education instruction and support in both pull-out and inclusive classroom settings
- Collaborate with general education teachers to integrate students with disabilities into regular classroom instruction and school activities
- Assess student progress regularly, document outcomes, and adjust instructional strategies based on data
- Maintain detailed case management documentation and ensure compliance with IDEA regulations and state requirements
- Communicate frequently with families about their child's progress, challenges, and successes
- Participate in IEP meetings and conferences with parents, administrators, and support staff
- Support the overall academic and social-emotional development of all students in your care
What We're Looking For
- Valid Texas special education teaching certification or willingness to obtain it
- Strong knowledge of special education law, IEP development, and inclusive practices
- Experience teaching students with a range of disabilities and learning differences
- Excellent communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
- Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt materials for diverse learners
- Organizational skills and attention to detail in case management and documentation
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and high expectations for all students
