Tax and Compliance Manager

Robert Half is hiring a Tax and Compliance Manager in Las Cruces, Doña Ana County, to lead our tax strategy and regulatory compliance programs. This full-time role offers the opportunity to shape our compliance operations, reduce tax exposure, and ensure adherence to multi-state regulatory requirements.

About the Role

As Tax and Compliance Manager, you'll own indirect tax and regulatory compliance across our enterprise. You'll build and maintain robust compliance controls, navigate complex multi-state obligations, and provide strategic guidance to leadership on tax risk mitigation.

What You'll Do

• Oversee indirect tax compliance including sales tax and use tax filings across multiple jurisdictions
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure timely organizational response
• Design, implement, and refine compliance procedures to strengthen our control environment
• Prepare and review tax documentation, returns, and regulatory filings for accuracy and completeness
• Collaborate with finance, operations, and business units to identify compliance gaps
• Analyze tax exposure and recommend strategies to reduce organizational liability
• Maintain compliance calendars and manage filing deadlines

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated expertise in indirect tax, sales tax, and use tax compliance
• Thorough understanding of multi-state tax obligations and regulatory requirements
• Strong analytical, organizational, and written communication skills
• Proficiency with tax compliance software and accounting systems
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, taxation, finance, or related discipline
• Track record of building effective compliance controls and reducing tax risk
• Ability to synthesize regulatory guidance and translate it into operational procedures
