About the Role
As a Talent Acquisition Specialist at Sentara Hospitals, you'll manage the complete recruitment lifecycle across assigned business units, from workforce planning through candidate onboarding. Working the first shift (days), you'll be a strategic partner to hiring managers and HR Business Partners, proactively identifying and sourcing talent solutions aligned with our evolving healthcare staffing needs. Your focus will be on innovative recruitment approaches that attract high-quality candidates while maintaining efficient, compliant hiring processes.
What You'll Do
- Own full-cycle recruitment responsibilities for assigned departments and roles
- Partner strategically with hiring managers to understand talent requirements and workforce challenges
- Source, screen, and interview candidates using diverse recruitment channels and methods
- Manage job postings, candidate pipelines, and recruitment timelines to meet hiring goals
- Develop and implement innovative staffing strategies aligned with Sentara's growth
- Coordinate with HR and onboarding teams to ensure smooth candidate transitions
- Maintain accurate recruitment records and provide hiring metrics and insights
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Talent Acquisition Specialist, recruiter, or similar HR role
- Strong knowledge of full-cycle recruitment processes and best practices
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with candidates and hiring managers
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple requisitions simultaneously
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment software
- Strategic mindset with ability to think creatively about sourcing and candidate attraction
