About the Role
As the Swimming Assistant Coach - Boys, you will support the head coach in directing the boys' winter swimming season for Community High School District 99 in Downers Grove. This on-site position is part of the district's 2026–2027 athletic vacancies, with compensation set according to the collective bargaining agreement (CBA), Group 7.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and running boys' swimming practices and meets throughout the winter season.
- Help develop swimmers' technique, conditioning, and competitive readiness.
- Foster a positive, disciplined, and inclusive team environment for student-athletes.
- Promote sportsmanship, academic accountability, and personal growth among team members.
- Support athlete safety, supervision, and adherence to district and conference policies.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of competitive swimming, coaching fundamentals, and meet operations.
- Ability to mentor and motivate high school student-athletes.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Coaching credentials and clearances as required by Illinois high school athletics and District 99.
- Availability to commit to the full winter swim season schedule in Downers Grove.
