Supervisor, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)

AAON is hiring a full-time Supervisor, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) at its Redmond, Oregon facility in Deschutes County — a hands-on leadership role at the intersection of HVAC engineering, electrical verification, and quality assurance.

About the Role

As the FAT Supervisor, you'll own the end-to-end factory acceptance testing process for AAON's commercial and industrial HVAC units before they ship to customers. You'll bridge the production floor, the engineering team, and the programming and controls group — making sure every unit that leaves the facility performs exactly as specified in the customer's submitted proposal.

What You'll Do

• Lead and coordinate factory acceptance testing for HVAC equipment, confirming that all electrical installations are accurate and that each unit operates within design parameters.
• Partner daily with engineering and production teams to resolve discrepancies found during testing and drive corrective actions to closure.
• Collaborate with the programming and controls group to validate that unit control sequences, setpoints, and responses meet or exceed contracted performance standards.
• Develop, update, and enforce FAT procedures, checklists, and documentation to support consistent, audit-ready quality records.
• Supervise, schedule, and mentor FAT technicians — setting priorities, monitoring workloads, and building team capability.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and controls issues identified during testing, escalating complex problems to engineering with clear written findings.
• Track and report testing metrics, defect trends, and throughput data to quality and operations leadership.
• Ensure all testing activities comply with applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and internal quality standards.

What We're Looking For

• Hands-on experience in HVAC manufacturing, electrical systems, or quality testing — ideally in a production or factory environment.
• Working knowledge of HVAC unit operation, electrical schematics, and control systems (BACnet, DDC, or similar).
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and proposal specifications.
• Prior supervisory or lead experience with a team of technicians or testers.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a systematic, detail-oriented approach to quality verification.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional coordination and documentation.
• Comfort working on the production floor in a manufacturing setting in Redmond, Oregon — this is an on-site position.
