About the Role

As Senior Subcontract Manager, you'll oversee the complete lifecycle of subcontractor relationships, from initial selection through contract closeout. You'll balance strategic vendor partnerships with rigorous compliance oversight, ensuring all subcontractors meet performance standards, budgetary targets, and regulatory requirements. Your work directly supports Lockheed Martin's space and defense programs, where precision and accountability matter.

What You'll Do

• Manage subcontractor performance through regular monitoring, compliance audits, and metrics-based assessments
• Negotiate contracts, amendments, and change orders to achieve favorable terms and alignment with program needs
• Coordinate with procurement, program management, and engineering teams to resolve subcontractor issues and optimize delivery
• Track subcontractor invoices, budgets, and schedules to ensure financial and timeline adherence
• Evaluate vendor qualifications and past performance for new subcontract selections
• Document agreements, maintain contract files, and ensure compliance with company policy and regulatory requirements
• Communicate program expectations clearly and address subcontractor risks proactively

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of subcontract management or contract administration experience, preferably in defense or aerospace
• Strong knowledge of federal procurement regulations (FAR/DFARS) and company contracting policies
• Proven ability to negotiate contracts, manage budgets, and track performance metrics
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional coordination
• Detail-oriented approach to documentation, compliance, and problem-solving
• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
