Compassionate spiritual care is at the heart of healing, and Parkland Health and Hospital System is seeking a dedicated full-time Staff Chaplain to join our team at our Village campus in Dallas. In this role, you will walk alongside patients, families, and staff during some of life's most meaningful and difficult moments.
About the Role
Based in the Main Hospital Building (1st Floor), the Staff Chaplain delivers holistic spiritual support across the hospital community. Working on-site in Dallas, you will offer presence, comfort, and pastoral guidance to those navigating illness, recovery, loss, and the everyday demands of healthcare work.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide spiritual care, counseling, and pastoral guidance to patients and their loved ones.
- Support members of the hospital workforce in need of spiritual encouragement and emotional resilience.
- Respond with sensitivity and respect to individuals of all faith traditions and belief systems.
- Collaborate with the care team to integrate spiritual well-being into the patient experience.
- Offer comfort and accompaniment during moments of crisis, grief, and transition.
Qualifications
- A graduate-level theological degree from an accredited institution, or an equivalency recognized by your faith group or endorsing body.
- Completion of at least four (4) units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).
- Strong interpersonal and active-listening skills, with the ability to serve a diverse community.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, emotionally demanding hospital environment.
