Staff Backend Engineer

 Role Overview

• Lead architecture design for scalable, extensible, and reliable systems
• Align technology roadmaps with leadership and stakeholders
• Build productivity tools using Claude and Windsurf
• Remove technical blockers and simplify complex problems into actionable solutions
• Write code when needed to guide teams and support high-priority initiatives
• Identify business and tech opportunities; evaluate and adopt new technologies
• Recruit, mentor, and grow top-tier engineering talent

• Bachelor’s degree and/or master’s degree in computer science or equivalent
• 10+ years building and operating backend services and web applications
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, storage, data processing, and server technologies
• Strong coding skills in Java and Spring Framework; object-oriented design
• Experience with AWS-based service development and operations
• Experience with NoSQL and relational/columnar databases

• Git, CI/CD automation, and Agile methodologies
• Experience driving improvements in code quality
• Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus)
• Passion and inclination towards Reliability and observability
