About the Role
The Office of Funded Programs at the American Heart Association manages the organization's grant portfolios and externally funded research initiatives. As Sr. Project Manager, you'll drive execution of critical programs that support the Association's mission to reduce cardiovascular disease mortality and improve health outcomes across the nation.
What You'll Do
- Lead cross-functional project teams to deliver grant-funded initiatives on schedule and within budget
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations aligned with funder requirements and organizational goals
- Monitor project performance, track key metrics, and prepare status reports for stakeholders and leadership
- Coordinate with grants management, research, and program teams to ensure compliance with funding agreements
- Identify risks and obstacles, develop mitigation strategies, and maintain transparent communication with team members
- Manage grant deliverables, documentation, and reporting to maintain strong relationships with external funders
- Support strategic planning and capacity building for the Office of Funded Programs
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in business, nonprofit management, public health, or related field
- 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in healthcare, nonprofit, or grant-funded environments
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with project management tools and methodologies
- Understanding of grant management, compliance, and funder requirements
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners
