Sr. Project Manager – Aviation

HOK is hiring a Senior Project Manager for our Aviation practice in Atlanta, Fulton County. In this full-time role, you'll lead dynamic projects from planning through completion, collaborating closely with architects and designers while managing budgets, schedules, and high-performing teams.

About the Role

As a Senior Project Manager specializing in aviation, you'll oversee the full project lifecycle for complex aviation infrastructure and design initiatives. You'll serve as the primary liaison between clients, internal teams, and external consultants, ensuring every project stays aligned with budget, timeline, and quality standards. This role demands both strategic financial stewardship and hands-on team leadership across multiple concurrent projects.

What You'll Do

• Own project financial performance, forecasting, and budget management from inception through closeout
• Coordinate with Senior Project Architects and Senior Project Designers to define scope, deliverables, and success metrics
• Lead, mentor, and direct employees and consulting partners at all organizational levels
• Develop and maintain realistic project schedules; proactively identify and mitigate risks and schedule conflicts
• Monitor project progress against established baselines, ensuring adherence to specifications and regulatory requirements
• Facilitate clear communication among stakeholders, keeping teams aligned and clients informed
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and quality protocols throughout all project phases

• Proven track record managing large, complex projects in architecture, engineering, or aviation sectors
• Strong financial acumen with demonstrated ability to manage multi-million dollar budgets
• Excellent leadership skills with experience directing diverse teams and consultants
• Exceptional organizational and communication abilities, with attention to detail
• Knowledge of aviation industry standards, regulatory frameworks, and project management best practices
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office suite
• Bachelor's degree in project management, business administration, architecture, or related field; or equivalent professional experience
